First post,
March 2, 2011Should more say they are theiving bastards.
So with this being a somewhat personal issue it might be best for me to keep it all in the family and not post however I feel that what I am going through is something that a lot of others are going through so will be making a website, a free one, to blog on this, put up links to how to not have this happen to you, how to get help if it does happen to you etc.
Yay people get to learn from my experiences and trauma whoot.
Note sarcasm.
Frankly I am angry, no pissed off and ready to go to war is a better description of how I feel.
I feel betrayed by people who I THOUGHT were helping me.
I am angry as I am in fear of losing my home, my dream, the ONE dream that I thought would never happen and it did.
Now they want to rip that from my hands and take it as they don't want to do the long complicated and RIGHT thing to do but rather do the quick and easy so they make more money.
I am angry at people who think this is the homeowners fault as I keep seeing people berating others on websites and in person on people overextending themselves, buying houses beyond their means, etc calling the victims, and trust me they/we are victims in this, deadbeats, losers etc.
The lending industry was greedy and in some cases yes people were being duplicitious and trying to get loans they could'nt afford but for a vast majority of those who are in this mess right now it's a bunch of bad circumstances happening that caused this, caused them to not be able to keep the payments up.
Some of it is the lender at the beginning, they may have been honest, they may not have been and may have just wanted to get the people into a home, maybe they thought they were doing the homeowner a favor and helping them get that house, I don't know all the facts for everyone hence why this will be mostly about me.
At the beginning the buyer may have had the income they needed but things can change and boy did they.
Some who had their houses lost jobs/got layed off, others had health issue some of them it was both things and more.
In the beginning we had more than enough income to cover the mortgage we were quoted and that we got.
I know with us at the beginning I was working three jobs and C was working 4.
I know too that the insurance companies have a tendency to raise prices on you which will raise your mortgage.
My insurance company in the second year of the mortgage doubled our insurance adding 300.00 to our mortgage.
We managed to pay that for a bit.
Then C lost a job, got anther one, but it caused a dip in income and the mortgage company helped with that and we fixed the issue and caught up.
THis past year C lost one job by getting layed off, got another and got layed off from that and has not been able to get hired on again as yet.
He's been doing some thing to bring in income just not enough to cover mortgage and such.
I've had roomates from hell that did not help my issue any and were more a drain on the household income than a help.
We've gone through 5 cars this past y ear due to several reasons and I do not have a car currently.
My jobs went from 3 to two and I am self employed, this past year I have held the mortgage on my own and it just became too much and we got behind.
I and C both have health issues that compound things, we do NOT have insurance.
I talked with my mortgage company and they put us in a modification program.
My mortgage company was Citimortgage.
During the modification process we were told not to pay them but to hold onto the money so that when we were granted the mod we would be able to pay the trial payments on time each time, three trial payments.
I did as we were told.
5 months later we were granted a modification.
Payments would be 820.00 over 40 years.
I plan on having this house to pass on to my child so this was no issue.
Then Citi sold the modification mid mod, after our first payment to them.
I got reassurances that the mod would be honored by them and by the new company Nationstar, both companies telling me that they would honor that mod.
Payed my second trial payment to Nationstar then the third.
All this time no package from Nationstar as to papers on the mortgage, where to pay etc.
I did get foreclosure notices, modifitcation offers, etc.
Called Nationstar multiple times finally getting told to ignore the foreclosure notices that it was computer generated and I didnt need to worry.
I worried.
I stressed.
I find out that my insurance is dropped, call my insuracne company and am told that by law both companies should have contacted them, Citi to let them know the mortgage had been sold and Nationstar to get things set up.
Got that fixed.
My taxes also were said not to be filed, called tax office and that was done shortly after I got the notice.
Now came the fun part, Nationstar now tells me I have to do the modification process all over again.
They tell me that Citi did not do the mod correctly.
They tell me my house goes into foreclosure on the 4th of March.
They tell me much more that will go on my website.
I am livid at this point.
I call my mom, my mom is a mortgage broker, however unlike these sharks she is honest and nice and cares about her customers.
She does some research as we have figured at this point I need a lawyer.
I get some numbers for legal aid here.
In the meantime I do research.
Citi mortgage has hired Nationstar to handle a portion of it's loans from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, they work with Nationstar, but they can't honor the modification?
I find out that Nationstar and Citimortgage are both involved in class action law suits, sevearl of them in fact, in several states.
I look everywhere and then found a lawyer.
I've hired a law firm out of FL, one of the leading ones in the nation in dealing with these crooks.
I hope to keep the house, I am hoping my issues help others, we'll see.
I really don't have the money for all of this.
Hell we have medical bills, we need a car, I have to pay the lawyer and keep money stored so that when we do have to pay again I can start doing that on time and all.
If you see a donation page that's the reason it's there and if you can help even if it's a dollar or two then please please do so.
More later.
Thanks.
